I don't agree. I think of trans women as a third, distinct category.
Trans women have a brain phenotype that makes them distinct. They aren't quite female, but they aren't quite male either, and the scientific literature on transgenders seems to reinforce this.
I consider trans women to be women in the same way I consider lions to be members of the Panthera genus. They are under the same umbrella cis women are, but they are different.
