The episode is out in 3 hours so I'm not going to read all of this but by the next issue the vampires are on the losing end and the leader calls for a retreat.
I'm going to guess this will probably be more of a boon for Buffy in the episode than a disadvantage if she was fighting these guys for 30 issues and her getting overwhelmed by numbers was issue 1.
