How do you know that's true without an epistemology based on measurable facts? I personally believe asserting greek fire was aliens thoroughly undermines the human mind and serves to decrease our collective confidence in interpreting reality correctly, leading to mystics gaining more dialectic power. This is elitist in nature, leading to philosopher kings (or aspiring ones) who want to dictate what is real and what isn't.
