Nta but what do you mean we can’t then how did we have Georgian golden age we did manage it in the end 8th–11th centuries Georgian princes and kings gradually pushed back. The Arabs kept firm control mainly in Tbilisi and surrounding regions, but highland areas (like Tao-Klarjeti) stayed semi-independent and became strongholds of Georgian resistance, Early 11th century Georgian kings (Bagrat III, Giorgi I, Bagrat IV) were already unifying territories and reducing Arab influence and finally in 1122 King David IV liberated Tbilisi from the Arabs and made it Georgia’s capital. This is usually considered the final end of Arab domination in Georgia and incidentally the beginning of Georgia’s golden age. In 1121 didgori the selchuks got fucked so it was kinda over by that point.
Oh and we also kept beating the shit out of Sultunate of Rum(battle of basiani) for a while before the Mongol invasions.
We were doing pretty well in fact.
Although I admit it took a long time before we managed to take back the capital.
