>>213845995 (OP)EU is kindaaaaa fucked though, like I donโt know why thereโs always this kind of brainwashing going on from the left that suddenly something amazing will happen if we suddenly join. Donโt they see whatโs going there right now, but leaving that aside.
It was the same kind of hype during candidacy status. Yeah we got EU candidacy status now so what? In what way did we benefit exactly?
More changed when we got closer to say China thereโs a brand new highway connecting Tbilisi to Batumi that shortens the time you need to get there by car significantly with numerous tunnel infrastructure that cuts through the mountains.
Joining the EU also entails the end of a countryโs independent visa policy and that would be decided by Brussels thus we would have to align with Schengen rules.
This could mean revoking visa free travel for some countries Georgia currently admits freely as in countries that the EU requires visas for. Which means they would cancel visa free for us as well and this includes China with whom we have more trade relations compared to say EU right now.
In general I donโt see whatโs the issue with Georgia developing as it is which is going quite smoothly compared to some countries in EU itself. Donโt see why we need extra burden like the EU right now.
