It's scary how it mirrors real life, isn't it? Normies never listen. They ostracize truth-seekers and label them as schizos. Sociopaths take advantage of this and create a system of mass enslavement.
Wesker was just an accelerationist. I think in the far future, people would eventually learn to coexist and even use the viruses to their advantage just like Wesker wanted for the survivors in his post-apocalyptic world. Hell, the BSAA was already doing that in RE8.
But what do you think will happen when humans find another neat trick to use as a weapon? Wars will become even more brutal and destructive. Maybe humanity manages to thrive once again and establish some sort of new golden age resembling the world of gods and monsters in ancient mythological stories. But even if we avoid total annihilation, the planet will remain forever changed. In the end, James Marcus was right. Everything he predicted ended up happening. People tend to see him as a joke but I think he's the only RE character who has actually won in terms of goals and desires.
