It's an action shooter featuring an OL and her animal spirit buddies (a thunder crow, a water dragon and a fire fox) fighting off the miasma monsters roaming the town at night. And yeah it's fun although the oo-miasma (one of them being a big succubus queen) levels do show a big difficulty spike.
Besides the story itself, Miasma Breaker does require a good level of Japanese in order to understand the upgrade effects from the passive bonuses you purchase with the money (sometimes gems) as well as the level up upgrades.

The Japanese Nintendo news channel (which is directly tied to their blog website) has also been pretty great in advertising niche Japanese third-parties too.
