Vanillaware needs to do something because Unicorn Overlord nearly bankrupted them. They needed to get loans from banks to finish Unicorn Overlord and start selling it. Who knows how many more hail merry chances they have left. Vanillaware has never made AAA huge titles that sell a lot. They are squarely in that niche enthusiasts market.
