Again, they just reference lot of real world visuals for their fantasy factions. Very first area is a north european wilderness with a celtic feel to it, one of the NPCs is named Finn. Just like how the "Barbarian" race are fantasy Maori with very similar tattoos and styles but with fantasy names and gods.
