Sounds like you don't play DCSS.
>Summon butterflies: GONE
False.
>Tornado: GONE
They changed it to frost (polar vortex).
>Mountain dwarves: GONE
False.
>Deep dwarves: GONE
Agreed that's kinda sad. However the new races they've added are great.
>Sludge elves: GONE
Boring race, basically the same as merfolk.
>Worker ants: GONE
Oh no, not my early game ant enemy! Seriously though they've added so many cool enemies which are actually interesting to fight. Fuck your worker ant.
>Potions of cure mutation: GONE
They were rolled into mutation, who cares?
>Dragon hides: GONE
Who cares? They still drop their armour.
>Staves of wizardry: GONE
Have you seen the newish randart staves? They are nuts. Also the new orbs.
>Labyrinth: GONE
Not gone, but changed into something much less annoying. Old labyrinth was dogshit.
>Food: GONE
And that's a good thing. Nah I can see why people sperg out about this, but anyone who actually played DCSS a lot would know how easy it was to automate food out of existence in 99% of situations. It was a broken/dead mechanic and I'm glad they removed it.
desu I used to be critical of DCSS's direction but recent changes have been so much fun.
>tons of new enemies, mostly interesting/fun and not annoying imo
>tons of new spells - the new spells are amazing once you get the hang of them
>new races are great - djinn, revenant, poltergeist, armataur, coglin, nu mountain dward, I like them all
