I'm starting to think Ian might have had a point trying to get Knuckles to open up to having a "substitute guardian" when he needs to attend to duties further away from the island. Trying to force Sticks to be that obviously was a bad idea (that got her vaulted, at that), but Relic the archeologist from preboot Archie was legitimately a good idea.
