Seems to be the case. It made a million less than the first movie did, but both only cost $80 mil to make and both overperformed their $20 mil projections for domestic opening weekend numbers. First movie also opened at #1 while this one did #2 due to Fantastic 4, sooooooo...not too great, but not too bad, either. You can look at it either way, but for a hugely marketed sequel that released in the summer to an established IP that has had 3 years to grow, it sucks to see how much it's fallen under the radar. Like literally WHERE THE FUCK IS EVERYONE. Even gay furries are hardly talking about the new movie and they were all over the first film back in 2022.
