Just got back from seeing it today. I was hoping it'd be as good as the first and I'm happy to say my expectations were met, and even exceeded. The animation was fantastic, I thought most of the jokes landed, and there was even a couple of sweet and sincere moments between Wolf and Diane. I did think the film moved a little too fast compared to the first one, and there were some exposition/dialogue dumps that were clearly there just to move the story along. In the older thread some Anons suggested it would've benefited from an additional 10-20 minutes of runtime, and I'd agree. Just to let things breathe a tiny bit more. I also recall people saying they wish Kitty's backstory was expanded on, but I don't think that's necessary. You only really need to know that she didn't get any respect until she started stealing shit. If they wanted to redeem her at the end, then I'd agree she would've benefited from a more detailed backstory. Otherwise all you need to know is she's driven by an insecure bitterness.
I was kinda worried that I wouldn't like any of the bad girls, but they all had fun personalities. The pig girl was very cute. Also maybe it's just me, but I found it jarring when
>They escape the wedding
>They're all celebrating
>Pigtails in broken English says she almost wet herself
>HARD cut to Piranha blushing (and then him implying he did piss himself)
I'm not even a pissfag or nothing, but I think someone on the team was.
All in all, glad I saw it in theatres. It had everything I wanted to see. I hope it does well enough for a sequel.
>>149706282I agree with most of your takes here, I think the movies weakest point was the last 10 or so minutes. There was little character payoff for the bad girls and the hard cut to the funeral was well executed and really funny but obviously also a catch-all time-saving choice in the screenplay because they had to keep it under 2 hours due to little kids having tiny bladders and not being able to handle a 2 hour+ movie properly.
>>149705832bet they made porn of these two

>>149706323>>149706282I must by in the minority because I thought it was fine but not as good as the first.
Like there's a hint of a good movie here but its mostly back to people seeing the bad guys as bad and not much else.
>>149706535Fujos don't care about canon
>>149706599While I very much liked the first movie, there's not a whole lot there to grab onto. The animation is the selling point. Again most of the jokes land, but you're not really there for the writing. Or at least a deeper story. It's like Ocean's 11. You're not there for something super introspective, you're there to watch a charismatic cast of characters doing cool stuff. And to be clear I'm not saying animation can't do deeper stuff, and I'm not even saying you can't do both. But it's very clear the creators of these films have a specific vision in mind and don't want to get distracted by stuff that won't enhance the vision.
>>149706686Fair enough, but I think the first movie was better with a tighter story and a better message.
This one was lacking, it still looked great and there were good moments but I found myself getting bored of the mid way point.
That said yes I am attracted to the crow...okay her and tarantula, I'm only human.
>>149704381 (OP)I sincerely hope you get murdered. I hope this movie is a weak performer and has a worse box office than Wild Robot. Shitty movie about shitty criminals who we totally have to forgive their life of crime bullshit. It's basically a worse Sly Cooper. The difference is Bentley and Murray were smart to think...
"Hmm we've spent our best years being career criminals better keep our pasts hidden away and dodge the system as much as possible."
That's certainly better than what the shitty characters are doing. The main characters of Bad Guys commit crimes AND demand society openly forgive their life of crime so they can mingle with the normal citizens who never committed crimes. That's shit. And the sequel rewards these shitty criminals with a promotion to become special agents. At least when Leon in Resident Evil got promoted to being a special agent he was never a criminal, he was a rookie cop.
I just don't see the appeal of a premise that goes like this, these shitty people are the heroes! It's why I hate Rick and Morty, Bojack, Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss. Bad Guys is shit. And on that note Zootopia is shit because its the same shit.
>>149704381 (OP)I don't care what anyone says that is a terrible name for a character. Doom? The only Doom that comes to mind is the gaming franchise Doom itself with the Doom Slayer. That's a cool property with the word Doom.
But Doom as in this stupid bird? Lame. And I didn't care for her random shitty romance with Snake.
>>149705556>Tai Lung if he was a big shredded black woman with smithing skills to smelt you a new cock out of MacGuffinite after she tears it the fuck off during sexAnd she'll probably do it in snu-snu style.
>>149705832That's just basically vorefaggotry style.
>>149704850I don't like the designs. To me the best anthro designs are anthros like Star Fox but with the animals being taller. Can't stand the whole animals are midgets compared to humans bullshit. It's why I hate the Sonic franchise. I was so annoyed when I saw that Vanilla the ONLY adult animal in the Sonic Franchise is about as tall as......a ten year old little human child (Chris Thorndyke). So that means Sonic is a Super Midget.
>>149705168You are a fucking idiot. Zootopia is a bigger brand than Bad Guys. Zootopia 2 will easily clear the one billion successful box office and you know it. If anything its a shock if Zootopia 2 doesn't make it, even then the good faith the first film has is enough to make more money than Bad Guys 2.
You are an idiot. And you're talking to someone who hates Zootopia, liberal virtue signaling trash. Not that Bad Guys is much better, I don't want to forgive criminals. I want them to rot in prison like El Chapo.

I love Mr. Snake, how is he in this movie
>>149705266Disney has grown a set you fucking idiot. Straight pairings are nothing new. Or did you forget Disney's Elemental already? Do you have Alzheimer? If you don't see straight people hooking up in a Disney movie it's not because of they needing to grow a set.
You have to remember the types of employees Disney hires and promotes, homosexual men, s o y boys, Shitty Women, and finally spinsters. These are the TRASH making Disney movies. Now you understand why you keep getting shit like Elio or Luca or Onward or Encanto shit. I really hope Dreamworks eventually hires these kinds of shitty subhumans so that you fucking learn that what matters is who you hire and promote at your company. And fuck you for being stupid.
>>149705327I don't care what anyone says Link and Zelda is the shittiest romance in the franchise. Link works better when he's single and can theoretically romance any given chick. Being LOCKED with Zelda because Retarded Destiny is auto-shit. And it really doesn't help that Zelda keeps getting more annoying and shitty as a character, especially her shitty voice acting. Holy fuck I hope her voice actress gets throat cancer for being that annoying.
>>149705951I don't have faith but I hope you all get cancer for being furries. If you like animals you need to be killed. Fuck you and sage.
>>149707321>ElementalI mean, Wade was pretty Zesty. Also I don't seem to recall Ember ever acting particularly feminine in that film.
>>149705897There's 20 books
>>149707398The point is that Disney still does straight romances you idiot. So I'm really getting tired of the whole Disney doesn't do anything. And quite frankly I don't care about a romance if its going to be POISON. I hated Legend of Korra strictly because the main romance before the Dyke Ending was horrible. And do I need to mention examples like Adventure Time? The romances before the Dyke Ending was also shit. Do I need to mention how terrible Regular Show's romances were? They were so awful that the writers needed to do a epilogue off screen romance that showed up out of nowhere.
And then you have other examples like Hotel Transylvania which is getting a new sequel no one fucking likes Johnny the bum retard who inexplicably wins the heart of an attractive sexy goth vampire chick. And no one likes Johnny's shitty son who inexplicably as the love of a tough wolf girl. When you people demand romance what you're saying is to quote Lady Gaga's terrible song you want Bad Romance.
I don't want romance because I know it's always going to be SHIT. I haven't seen a good romance EVER. The closest thing to a good romance in an animated film from "recent" times is Rango with Beans and that was because both of them were weirdos who never abused each other showing how unfit they are to be together. And the movie didn't waste too much time on said romance. But by and large romance is usually horribly done in media especially cartoons.
>>149707412he should've been horny for ME god dammit!!!!!!!!!!!

>>149707514Still, it does seem like that's what's teed up next what with the whole Bad Guys become Men in Black and Marmalade escapes off into space thing.
So all the Not!BadGuys are women?
>>149707622As soon as they do alien bullshit as the main focal point of the movies they will lose steam. Anthos and aliens rarely mix. The only exception is Ninja Turtles. And even then everyone says the aliens in Ninja Turtles like the Utroms and Triceratons are boring. You can't mix anthros and aliens readily. Hell come to think of it not even Star Fox can do it successfully and in Star Fox the main point IS the outer space galaxies with the animal anthros. So far in Star Fox there's only been ONE alien species the rest are just anthro animals like the dinosaurs.
>>149707463That's a lotta content. Does Kitty's crew eventually join TBG?
>>149707715She does but you need to kill yourself to make it happen. Please commit suicide. Remember suicide leads to Hell and you can Yiff in Hell so kill yourself so you can yiff. We are all rooting for you to die by your own hand. Come on!
I want you to die the same way that stupid bitch from Save a Fox killed herself. That was funny.
>>149707707Bikers Mice from Mars
>>149707746And how popular are the Biker Mice from Mars? To me the best Anthros Fight Aliens example is the episode of Swat Kats with the alien invasion where the aliens were stealing all the water on the planet. The Swat Kats had to fight the aliens so that their planet doesn't die from dehydration.
But remember this is merely a one shot episode. Bad Guys makes the aliens element a continuous one. And that's what kills it. You can't do stupid trash like that for very long. The novelty doesn't gel well. Unless they reveal that the aliens are the ones who created the anthro animals you really can't expect aliens to stick around and make sense in anthro media. It would be the same as expecting aliens in Harry Potter it's not going to work.
>>149707792I mean, they move on from aliens and into multiversal horrors.

He said he wrote it as a movie script first and it shows, itโs got a big conspiracy that builds into a heist thatโs far more typical of the movie plots than the book plots.

>>149708273Wild Robot and Dog Man are also pretty faithful.

Spoilers!!!
First the Bad Guys themselves are irrelvent to the plot. they are easily captured and out smarted by three random DUMB thugs.
Kitty - pigtail and Doom. Never demostrated any high intellegence to pull up this heist.
Kitty is played as misunderstood villian that needed true friendship. But she was played as irredeemable villain. that's one plot never resolved.
What was her motivation ?
what was her plan after Stealing all gold from Earth bringing it to space? then what ?
Kitty explicitly stated its the thrill not the Loot.
ok so she already won the moment she activated the device. why did she fight back ?
why was Pigtail and Doom on board with this ?
>Then comes Diane and Wolf Kiss
-Wolf calls Diane saying help me.
-She told him trust noone I'll handle this.
-she found the curplits and fought them, they revealed to the world she was crimson paw. and drugged her.
-she sneaked into the spaceship
-later saw mr wolf struggling fighting Kitty.
-she beat her. then pationatly kissed wolf ?
sorry what ?
where did that Kiss come from ?
was she still intoxicated ? No she was clearly sobber
>>149713414She explains it pretty well, she had been holding back her feelings since she was afraid of damaging her reputation as Mayor to be caught having an affair with an ex-con.
Since her reputation was already completely demolished, she didnโt really have any reason to suppress her feelings any more, she might as well have the thing she wants to comfort her in the wake of the thing she lost.
>>149704486Had about fifteen people for my viewing. Youngest kid was ten and very well behaved. Sat in the back row, away from most of the rest.
Film is nothing revolutionary, much like the first one, but enjoyable. Diane definitely needs to wear less.
>>149712395well yeah, you have to find Wolf hot first
No, I gotta wait until some chink records a chinese dub and posts it on watchfreemovies.com. It's embarrassing to go to the movies just to see a movie made for kids :(

>>149713689>mostly women thoThey were definitely shlicking to Mr.Wolf in secret.
>>149713706that's a given
>>149713689It was mostly kids with their parents both times I watched it. However, I think the adults laughed more than the kids each time.

Has there ever been a better shift in design from original to remake than Bad Guys?
>>149713356Is Kitty achievable natty?
>>149712746I thought Wolf's appeal was he was a lanklet? It's interesting to think that for all his scary posturing and teeth bearing, he's not actually very good at fighting.
>>149714180I much prefer their movie designs. The book designs are fine for little kids just fucking around with a story book, but their glow up for the movies is just peak.
>>149713414>where did that Kiss come from? How on Earth did you miss all of the extremely clear (to adults) sexual tension that was going on in this film, and some of the previous film? Like when they're sparring and they drink from the same water bottle and touch their lips to it? Or the suggestive camera angles, poses, and romantic lighting when she's applying the ice pack to his face? Or the dance scene in the first movie? They basically do everything except explicitly saying outright that they're into each other.
>they are easily captured and out smarted by three random DUMB thugs. They got duped because they thought they were only dealing with 1 or 2 other thugs. They had no idea of Kitty's existence until they woke up in the hangar.
Is it just me, or is it crazy how this movie is just flying comply under the radar for most people. Is it just because there are 2 capeshit movies sucking up all the oxygen? Feels like a massive injustices for the best movie I've seen in the theaters this year.
>>149715078Theatrical release apathy is real. In my friend group of 12 people, I am the only person who has seen it in a theatre (twice, actually). All of my friends, family and acquaintances that are excited for the movie are still just saying "I'll check it out when its on a streaming service/pirate it at some point".
>>149713414>Kitty - pigtail and Doom. Never demostrated any high intellegence to pull up this heist. They started the movie as the phantom bandits nobody could catch and basically baited and tricked the bad guys at every step of the way. As for the scientific side they said they had asked marmalade about how it works and so he may have given them the tools to pull it off considering their plan was necessary for his own escape.
>Kitty is played as misunderstood villian that needed true friendship. But she was played as irredeemable villain. that's one plot never resolved.>What was her motivation ?Kitty is a dark mirror to wolf. She's basically where he was in the first movie. "Nobody will ever trust us so I may as well be what they expect me to be." Except wolf was willing to change and she is not.
>ok so she already won the moment she activated the device. why did she fight back ?Because "world's greatest heist foiled by the Good Guys" is not the same story as "Master Criminal Kitty successfully steals all the world's gold. Nobody respects a heist that fails.
>why was Pigtail and Doom on board with this ?Presumably they also wanted lots of money and respect. Crows and Warthogs aren't exactly beloved animals either.
>>149715192Smartphones were a mistake. Instant access to everything numbs you and ability to enjoy things.
>>149715404>Because "world's greatest heist foiled by the Good Guys"fair enough.
>Intellegence they are saved by plot. They didn't demostrate any traits of intellegence.
Her heist is something a mad genious would perform like marmalade, not Kitty who is a basic muscular bully type.
>Dark mirror yes exactly, which should have ended up with Cured with friendship, and Trust not leaving her irredeemable.

one more question to you, since you are making sense
>why did they release marmalade?didn't he create a hamster army trying to take over the world ?
or was that forgiven because he is not Crimson Paw ?
>>149715078Its because no one cares about Anthro Animal Criminals as a genre. In case you never noticed before Sly Cooper the gaming series by Sony existed before Bad Guys and how successful is Sly Cooper? Not very. Sly Cooper also flew under the radar with very weak sales, enough to justify a few sequels but NEVER a great success.
That's Bad Guys situation. The Anthro Animal Criminals genre is not a big one. You're not going to get people interested because if you want a story about criminals you need to make them human. The only people who care about anthro animals are not even children but furry freaks. YOU are the minority. The last hurrah in general for anthros was Zootopia hitting one billion at the box office.
But I think even kids by now realize that anthro animals are enjoyed by zoophiles, that would be people like YOU HERE ON THIS BOARD. As such they want nothing to do with animal media. They want to disassociate from you freaks.
Furries are not a secret anymore, they are fully recognized and rightfully.......hated upon. And examples like Loona's popularity in Helluva Boss has only exacerbated the problem even further. And it really doesn't help these modern anthro characters are all corrupt, criminals, evil, etc yet the writing expects us to care about them and root for them? It's all trash.
>>149715503Good I think humans should be numb, demoralized, and depressed. You don't deserve to be content with anything. And we need prices to go up so that you are scammed more especially in the gaming industry. We need you MISERABLE. And if you try to step out of line we need you INCARCERATED. Ideally thrown in a prison cell with the intention of never being fed or given water so that you die in your cell like that. I truly believe you need this treatment. And I hope the Jews inflict more misery onto society. You NEED to be unhappy.
>>149715545>Her heist is something a mad genious would perform like marmalade, not Kitty who is a basic muscular bully type.Exactly. It's marmalade's plan. For her stealing all the gold is just a power move. Marmalade just told her the best way to do it. She's just following the steps.
>yes exactly, which should have ended up with Cured with friendship, and Trust not leaving her irredeemable.image related.
They could be saving it for a bad guys 3 but honestly I think she's more effective as a villain. Just because someone is sympathetic doesn't mean they have the willingness to change. She's a bad person with a good motive.
>didn't he create a hamster army trying to take over the world ?>or was that forgiven because he is not Crimson Paw ?Marmalade was actually never caught for the hamster mind control plot. He was almost about to get away with it until the chief saw he had the diamond and accused him of being the Crimson paw. So he was only in jail for that and not for the mind control meteor plan. Everyone still blamed the theft of the meteorite on the bad guys.
>>149715581>Sly CooperPoor comparison. That probably would've done fairly well on a Nintendo console, but it was stuck on the Playstation. The Playstation was for "mature" games like GTA, Metal Gear Solid, etc. The Xbox was for dudebros. The Gamecube was for the rest. Also the species of animal matters a lot. I don't think people much care for raccoons, and his design looks a little off putting.
>>149704381 (OP)It was fine. Much like the first one, the only thing putting me off were the fart jokes, but I bet they play well with the target audience.
Iโm not gonna lie, I bit my lip and shuddered when Kitty was introduced. Her just in the tank top is unfairly hot
>>149715738>not loading up on eggs and beans before the movie to time your farts with PiranhaโsNgmi
>>149715738I hate the fart jokes in this series in particular cuz other wise Piranha would be my favorite character but it really drags him down to being one of my least.
>>149715724No. You mean GOOD comparison. Playstation 2 had colorful successful brands like Ratchet and Clank and Kingdom Hearts which sold excellently. Sly Cooper was among friends. But I'm saying it Cartoony Anthro Criminals is not a successful genre. That's all it is.
And I find it funny you said that Sly Cooper would have done well on a Nintendo console. Is that why Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault had such notably WORSE sales on the Gamecube? There's a stereotype for Nintendo consoles that third parties don't sell well. But Star Fox doesn't have that problem because its a Nintendo first party property and yet the sales for those two exclusives were pretty lousy with ever diminishing returns.
But enough said Sly Cooper was never going to be a big deal because Criminal Anthros just don't make bank. You just can't argue with this. And if you need another example look at Conker's Bad Fur Day. The whole premise of that game is what if the cartoony anthro was an immoral sack of trash who is a drunkard and lets his girlfriend get murdered? That game failed. And when it got remade it also failed a second time. Anthros being trashy and immoral and wicked as main protagonists doesn't sell. It didn't work for Conker, Sly Cooper, and now Bad Guys.
Bad Guys may not be failing but it's nowhere near a success like Puss in Boots Last Wish. And before anyone says "But Puss is a criminal outlaw!" He was framed he was always a good character so audiences root for him.
