Nazis were very gay.

Was there any point that Ernst Röhm could have realistically become the Führer of the Nazi Party? What about becoming Führer of all of Germany? Let's suppose that Adolf Hitler became an artist, was killed during the First World War, or just became irrelevant very early on in the NSDAP. Would socio-economic factors of Nazi Germany look much different to that historically of Hitler?

At least Hitler had a diverse gay friend, possibly boyfriend, for a while. That was very progressive for the time period. Röhm was even the first out of the closet gay politician. The Nazis also had other gays, bisexuals, and some trans people in their ranks, too.
