i didn't like that the optimal way to handle later-game cave floors was sending out captains with a tiny squad to trigger traps before grabbing the goods, and caves didn't really give you much incentive to multitask like the above ground levels.
A light timer (not to the degree of the challenge levels, just something to encourage you to keep moving) and/or not saving after every floor would have made the caves more interesting and given your choices more impact. Submerged castle was the only cave level that addressed the pacing properly.
Purples were also way too overtuned and shouldn't have been able to stack stuns. The game's still neat, but it doesn't hold up nearly as well as 1 under scrutiny
