So when troubleshooting problems the first thing I do is eliminate the knowns. I've been using deleter paper for ten years until now without issue, so I'm not tempted to blame the paper itself. So then I test inks and compare them under normal conditions. Do they feed properly? Is it too runny or is it not running enough? Then the nib itself: Have I touched or brushed the nib on accident? How old is the nib? Did I use it fine before and now seem to get bad results suddenly? Lastly, am I retarded? Am I using my pens properly?
I have a bottle of Winsor to test against the ordinary Pilot on deleter 135kg and here are my results. I pressed moderately and got some slight feathering that was more noticible on the Winsor- but the difference is not stark. When I look at the test lines you've drawn, they are heavy, they appear to be done with a small brush. I think when you lay it on thick like this, the quality will just seem much worse than if you'd used them lightly. A tiny bit of feathering is normal, but no one will see it or be distracted by it.
People have told me my art looks clean, but it's funny because i'm constantly seeing everything up close and zooming in on every mistake so I know how messy it really is. We are just used to the professional presentations of the masters, but we don't get to look at their raw manuscripts from two inches away. The slight irregularities of analogue can be confusing I think, for someone who isn't used to seeing it up close and personal.
