Dorothy's taking another break between volumes so I'll be making another recap. Mostly to update the character chart, the known timeline, and pick up on those minor details that keep adding up. I think Masaki's subplot is pretty straightforward, at least after ch30, but I should probably speedrun that too.

She said she doesn't intend to take as long this time, but these breaks are so she can plot each new volume. And more so than most mangaka I get the feeling she writes the entire volume out, intended to be read as a whole. It's practically LN style rather than manga, where you're expected to remember little things chapter to chapter with few callbacks. I don't know how many yurifags are actively following a predominantly het ecchi mag like Comic Valkyrie but Aizawa always gets a big burst of JP discussion with each volume release, so it's not the worst strategy.

On that note another tactic Dorothy lifts from novels I rarely see manga attempting is the "firehose of information." Where each page is so packed with details you tend to overlook or underestimate how important some are. The orthodox approach in mystery manga is to shine a spotlight on every new clue, giving them isolated panels and effects so the audience won't miss it. And few juggle hundreds of ongoing unanswered questions. Here Dorothy will casually scatter across a cluttered page DeLphi's agency opening recruitment for a new idol unit and you might not consider the implications on a first read.

It's a really demanding manga but if you're going to go full conspiracy autism I don't think there's much yuri like it. Especially with its bipolar tone. And so far it feels like all the questions are congruent, seemingly matching up where you're always a few key pieces short. Of course I have the benefit of being forced to reread multiple times while translating.
