I wish the CIA controlled the music industry. The industry has no idea what the fuck it’s doing anymore. Mu talks about Copeland brothers’ affiliated acts all the time. Morrissey and the Cure, despite the vitriol between the lead singers, both shared Ian Copeland as their booking agent. Nine Inch Nails was a client. Miles Copeland’s IRS Records signed REM and were at the forefront of college rock. They even helped create the predecessor to MTV’s 120 minutes with I.R.S. Presents the Cutting Edge. There was a point in the early 80’s where a quarter of the songs on the top 40 were from acts that were managed by Miles. And Stewart just be one of the most fun musicians to ever exist.
