>But at least in the manga there's the implication that this soldier was in on the plot so maybe Lakan could simply put the guy under investigation and squeeze a little. Nothing to warrant an execution our outright dismissal, but definitely having the guy fired from guard duty at the shrine.
Whut? The only one implying he was complicit was Maomao in a really desperate try to have the soldier take her seriously and want to prove his innocence (instead of calling off her bluff). A random soldier like him wouldn't even play any role in the assassination attempt.

No, if someone would be in trouble it would be Lakan himself, what was he doing here? Why did he order the soldier to let a random daughter pass? Did he know of the plot and tried to look helpful even if she didn't make it at the very last second?
I don't think he could even get the guy fired.
it would however be hilarious if the guard looked for her to ask her "sorry!" followed by "could you please convince your FATHER, to stop his machination of making me regret being born?" in cold sweat.
Not that I see any decent reason to bring this nobody in the plot, unlike dog-man.

>He's seemingly been just fine at screwing over people
True, I was mostly joking. Not like he could actually work without a way to differentiate people.
