yeah, i learned this when my mom died from cancer and by the time i called to euthanize her it was too late; she didn't leave anything in writing and her husband was legally her care-taker, and he refused to let her die with dignity
it was incredibly awful. i 100% advocate for living wills and assisted suicide.
