It's just another shitty art style. It generally makes games look like ass because it makes the colors all fucked up and dull. Only way I've ever seen it work is if you have motion blur on full blast so you can give yourself a migraine by staring at a blur of metallic smears on your screen.

It's fine in single player but why the fuck is every multiplayer shooter drowning in this shit? I get that 9/10 people are using controllers these days so they don't have to aim. But it seems like a complete waste of time to develop when everyone turns it off anyway. Do devs do this just to fellate each other about the goofy tech demo they managed to make?
