The magic story, especially under woke DEI writers is complete trash. Characters are inconsistent. The past decade of magic lore was Jacestice League wank as WotC tried to get a Netflix show, which merged in to Lesbian Chandra wank when she was chosen to be the protagonist of the Netflix show. Then the story changed in to Kaya wank after George Floyd died and WotC started chasing DEI money. The beloved phyrexians were turned in to toothless jobbers. Thank god WotC realized they can't write lore for shit and stopped getting in their own way. I like some of the worlds wotc creates but the stories and characters themselves are shit. Atleast with UB you get beloved characters and stories that are actually good. WotC if left to their own devices will just give us and endless stream of niko arris and ral zarek having sex while wearing funny themed cosplay hats, while kaya saves the day solo every time due to black girl magic. Any mtg lore purists in 2025 are massive fags.
