I try to run as much on-theme removal as I can fit (Grave hate, exile/destroy, etc) but also consider stuff like Discard and Counters to be removal as a slight stretch. The more on-theme the removal is, the more I like it to an extent, such as Auron in my Tidus deck, the repeating removal and ever-growing beater with vigilance is awesome.

Very deck dependent, but for the average mid range battle cruiser sloppa, I'll slot 12. My control decks have double that. In combo It remains 12, but some of those slots go to protection rather than straight up removal pieces.

It seems decent, I like the return clause on the earthbending lands though I hope it remains relatively hard to do otherwise we're gonna end up with even more jund sac land /landfall.

Firebending is nice and thematic if a bit niche.
Airbending is cool, being both defensive and offensive though I feel like we're starting to hit this point where we need to start being able to interact with exile more, which is a whole can of worms.

Waterbending I'll still need to see more of, but it just seems like convoke/improvise on activated abilites without any real set theming.

hourglass of the lost is just mana value X, not or less, so I don't like it personally. I guess you could use it at X=2 or 3 decently.
staff of the storyteller over insight engine?
I feel like you might want another few sources of moving counters around.
there's a few artifact cost reducers you could run, but you only have foundry inspector. your curve is pretty low, rather than suggesting the others, I'd actually just suggest cutting him.
I don't get lotus field here. you only have the one source of catch-up ramp and you can't do anything with lands in GY.
watch out, mirrodin's core is NOT a storage land. it's more like a slow filter. if you never find yourself tapping it for colorless, honestly I'd suggest swapping it for a triland of some kind.
elocutors is funny, but keep in mind you do need a second upkeep to win.

slightly serious suggestions of cards to look at: prologue to phyresis, jitte (either)
goofy suggestions of cards to look at: grim poppet, leech bonder

Hell no. I own every card on that list but Faeburrow Elder and The Meathook Massacre. My bro has been playing magic since Unlimited. I got into it in 2009 with him, so I've been able to trade and have cards increase in price since then.
You have no idea what it was like trading cards after the iPhone came out, where you could check prices online in person and the person you're trading with most likely could not. I was able to trade trash rares and mythics (at the time) for all the dual lands and whatever else I wanted. No wonder many were able to trade up to a power of 9 back then.

Yikes. No you want 38 land, with lots of ramp. My average mana cost is 4.

The goal of my deck has always been to prevent others from winning by destroying/exiling their problematic permanents. Since most of the creatures have ETB and death triggers you get a ton of card advantage. Same with all the wipes, recursion and draw you get from those colors. It doesn't matter if you threw everything down and then wipe the board. You're definitely going to be in a better spot to rebuild than everyone else. I feel like throwing stuff into the graveyard via things like Entomb and trying to cheat them out is too easy for others to disrupt, so that's why I wanted everything to give me value before it went to the graveyard. If it comes back, it's even better.

I purposely built it to not be a fast combo instant win deck, so it's not really a powerful bracket 4. I'd consider it a 3.75. It was a much, much stronger strategy back in the day when I first built it, 2010. Slowly been updating it recently.

OK, well the precon itself also had tekuthal, as well as one or two ways to tap kilo without attacking. looking again, you have drum bellower, but not a lot of instant speed ways to tap, nor ways to protect kilo if he's attacking. even a relic of legend would help here. a similar problem with leech bonder, but one you can't fix with relic. maybe paradise mantle, but I don't know if infinite fiddle "oops I move everyone's counters to my permanents" is what you're looking for.
more generically, you could think about cards like aphetto alchemist, fatestitcher, or ioreth for other untaps. (you're not actually legend-dense enough that I'd recommend ioreth.) maybe play it a couple of times first to see if you want more untap sources, which you could go very hard with in artifacts.
I'm not sure how long you've been playing EDH or the makeup of your playgroup, but you're also not running much in the way of removal, so I'd try and consider a few more of those.
unfortunately, I can't help but suggest a lot of the stuff that was in the precon, it's a very good precon.

I just got back into it the last few months. Power crept in some areas for sure, I'm finding new cards for my decks. I haven't had much playing experience since then outside my pod, but I gather that interaction isn't so much a thing anymore, along with removal. I feel like there is a huge opportunity for decks like this that let people play their decks, but stops them from winning. I think somewhere between tier 3 and 4 is the sweetspot, where you can build a themed janky deck that does something and it can sometimes win, but you probably won't be BTFO in a few turns by some streamlined combo deck.
I mean that's how my pod used to play back in the day. Turns 5-10 were the sweetspot. Rarely it would end earlier, a good time it would go over that and it would usually be a blast.

muscles, tomboys, whatever the name of that fetish is where it's feats of strength, wrestling; worship (specific body parts); brat; sex positions (holds)

mating press, creampie, impregnation, pregnant; orgies; vanilla stuff but fetishistically (kissing, handholding, PDAs)

sensory deprivation; public sex (secret); roleplay both in the scenario sense and online ERP, writing/literature generally; roleplay (blackmail, noncon, characters/scenarios), coercion
>UR
roleplay (costumes); toys/bondage for a scenario, improvised toys/bondage; surprise sex; novelty; domination swap; mutual masturbation
>UG
toys (mostly dildos); wet-n-messy (only stuff that comes in a tub (expensive)); costumes/outfits; roleplay; yes the dildos, costumes, and roleplay are for animals/tentacles/monsterboys
>BR
novelty; extreme BDSM (as dominant); literally anything; secretly or not-secretly pain, knives, blood, snuff
>BG
orgies but the fantasy kind where there's a 'star' (her of course); vanilla; wet-n-messy mostly for theming; public sex (risk of being found)
>RG
rape (duh); rough sex; surprise sex; forced sex (rape again); predator/prey; domination contests; anything kinetic and physical, would try BDSM the same as choking or beating each other up (sexually(?))

I have room so

more (you) focused than community focused; the most vanilla color, every other color leans more dominant-except maybe G
>U
needs the mental aspect, buildup, scenario, or just foreplay; edging; sleeping
>B
selfish and dominant, that's kinda it

novelty- and pleasure-seeking; fast; multiple orgasms

Don’t give a damn about Last Airbender but am looking forward to the others doing the pre-release that he won’t be able to afford to go and watching him seethe in the aftermath.

This isn't even me complaining that it's not better than Swat.
I'm complaining because there's literally 2 cards in the whole game that can hit spells and abilities with multiple targets:
A 0-mana card that's busted to shit.
A 3-mana card that's ridiculously greedy.
The gap between these two cards is colossal. There's no 1/2-mana options that hit spells/abilities with multiple targets. It's being told to pick a lane when one is so busted it got rightfully put on the GC list and the other one is basically meme-tier with being 3-mana stack interaction.

This is one of the dumbest pro UB arguments.
1. Hat sets were a stepping stone to UB. Both involve WotC putting less effort into their own writing and their own spins on classic genres to just make lazy references to something
2. UB is an unskippable ad, so even if it was the bestest most Magic-adjacent IP in the world, none of that would overcome the fact that instead of being sold Magic we are being sold cardboard funkopops. I got into Magic for Magic, I enjoy other IPs as their own thing, I don’t want them in Magic and if you did you could always have made custom cards instead of wet watery shitting the contents of your wallet when WotC tickled your gooch and leaving us all with more than 50% of all cards printed in a year being other IPs

You spent 7 mana on a do nothing card that can be eradicated by removal that cost less than 25% of it. If you're spending that much mana it should be to fill up the board or play a game ending threat. Someone will probably blow it up before you are able to get a single card out of it and you'll be down 7 mana and a card - basically a whole turn - AND you'll probably have lost life too while it sat there not advancing your game plan.

Meanwhile for the exact same cost in the exact same colors you could've played a card that has far less removal made for it, exiled any colored permanent, gained life, drew a card, and put a threat on the board that HAS to be answered or people's shit will start getting exiled like crazy.

I have never found a deck that benefits from running this. Without fail 10 mana is just too late game. By the time it comes down you've already played something like 90% of all the cards you were ever likely to play in the game to begin with.

My copy has bounced around 3 or 4 different decks, but I now have it in Zur Eternal Schemer because if it comes out it can be a 10/10 beater, and there's like 5 or more cards in the deck that would reduce the cost to cast it so it'll end up closer to 7 than 10, but still.

Do you think that McDonalds must be health food? After all, it's so profitable, and people wouldn't eat low quality food that's bad for them right? No the only reason it could make money would be if it's good!

Warhammer makes money because its playerbase is very invested. It costs literal thousands of dollars to collect an army's entire range, assemble it, paint it up. It's not something people just drop.
It's a frog in a boiling pot situation. Every year GW increases the prices, then gives everyone enough time to get comfortable with the new prices, then they do it again.
It actually has an increasing problem with barrier to entry for exactly this fucking reason because even a "starter box" is around $120, and of course that's unassembled and needs specialist tools.

Most of GW's profit gains in the last 5 years have funnily enough been from licensing the Warhammer IP out and making money from mobile games and other slop- oh yeah, like a Magic crossover.

You're on /tg/, you can go to the Warhammer thread and ask people if they're happy with the current state of 40k and the hobby as a whole. You will get mixed responses at best, and pure vitriol at worst. Warhammer players fucking hate Games Workshop.

you know, I checked, and wow there are so few good Stun Counter cards. Lulu is probably the best one since she gets to put one defensively every time you're attacked, the other on-theme ones would be Shiva or Valefor but at 5cmc that's a lot for things that take a while to get rolling (and then die when you proliferate them hard enough). Lost in the Maze is mildly hilarious as both an offensive option or defensive one, and Sanctuary Wall with Nesting Grounds lets you effectively double how many stuns you're putting out there.
How do you feel about Concordant Crossroads as a way to give all my boys haste? I know it applies to everyone, I've just got 4 copies sitting around and figured it might be decent for the aggression this sort of deck wants.

As far as I know that's the only rakdos precon they've printed in 3 years.
You can try any of these but you might not be able to find them

Kardur Doomscourge
https://magicprecons.com/chaos-incarnate
Kardur is neat, but he's not a tentpole commander since his first effect is only on ETB. You will probably want to put in a lot of forced combat cards. Bizarrely I don't see any forced combat cards in there already, just skimming.

Strefan Maurer Progenitor
https://magicprecons.com/vampiric-bloodline
Strefan is a name I've heard. I think I've played someone who upgraded this precon. Vampires are a good tribe, you can't go far wrong.

Prosper Tome Bound
https://magicprecons.com/planar-portal
I remember Prosper being expensive. Not sure if he still is. Pay offs for casting from exile tends to be an expensive archetype because there's a short list of good cards for it and many of those cards are very good- so I expect this precon won't be cheap if you can find it, but I'm obviously not gonna check for you.

Failing that, there's been so many precons in the last couple years where red and black are part of a 3 color deck, would those interest you?

>>96310450

It really doesn't. Mythology can't even define what a faerie is for most of human history. All the fucking creature types of Lorwyn are just names for the same thing. Goblin, boggart, fey, gnomes, whatever the fuck else. All just different names for a poorly defined concept of small creatures that play tricks on humans. You'd struggle to even find a consistent depiction of them, are they little people or little monsters or something else?

It's a very modern thing for strongly defined categorisations of mythology. The same thing happened to dragons, where autists will now tell you that wyverns have 2 legs, wyrms have no legs, and dragons have 4 etc, but historical people didn't think of it like that at all.

It's not until Tolkien that elves became androgynous, and it's not until after Tolkien that humanoid elves really became synonymous with fey.

>>96310550
if they're not explicitly described as male or female then depicting them in a more androgynous "base" form isn't a statement of any kind, just a way of depicting them

>It's not until Tolkien that elves became androgynous, and it's not until after Tolkien that humanoid elves really became synonymous with fey.
It does mean that androgyny and fairies are pretty well linked at this point in culture, it doesn't have to be some kind of statement, unless of course, Tolkien was making some kind of statement

And it's not like all faeries in MtG are androgynous or even most of them
>>96310486
>It's not until Tolkien that elves became androgynous
OK, and do you think that he made that up, or that he got it from previous mythology somewhere?
>>96310486
Not a single word of this is correct.
>old people didnt think like this
Yes they did! What an absurd thought, why wouldn't they have?
>>96310572
Because most FF players a newbs who just started playing when that set came out. They don't know how to deck build or pilot the deck very well.
>>96310581
>if they're not explicitly described as male or female then depicting them in a more androgynous "base" form isn't a statement of any kind,
Tegwyll's flavor text literally says "he", and he's not a shapeshifter anyway.
Your point about shapeshifters was a total nonsequitur, and my only point in response to it is that a shapeshifter is not androgynous.
>It does mean that androgyny and fairies are pretty well linked at this point in culture,
I mean. It doesn't? There's more to fantasy than Tolkein.
If you want to play these games, A Court of Thorns and Roses is probably the most popular depiction of fairies in popculture today and they're rarely androgynous in those books because it's female schlick-fic
>And it's not like all faeries in MtG are androgynous or even most of them
Anons point was that Eldraine faeries are, and with WotC that is almost certainly a statement.

>>96310600
>or that he got it from previous mythology somewhere?
Tolkein's elves were closer to angels than any mythological fey creature. I'm not certain if angels were ever said to be androgynous in the bible, but certainly some renaissance paintings of them were. I believe it has something to do with being created in God's image.
I'm not sure how you don't know this because Tolkein's elves were notoriously elves in name only.

>>96310631
>das not twuuuuuue! oh my evidence? uh um well I just can't conceptualize people from different times having different lives
Fascinating.
I mean there's not really much to say, the entire history of mythology disagrees with you.
Historical people didn't have the level of interconnectedness that we do now, nor a canon of fiction that wanted to distinguish between mythical creatures. They had various names for spirits and creatures, and then other neighbouring people would have differing names for them, or attribute different qualities to the same creatures and there was no huge cultural consensus to model what a "fairy" is, until the Victorians anyway.
>>96310643
And they'll never learn because the longer WotC goes without printing one of their special interests on a card, the closer they'll get to dropping the game entirely.

People who can be brought in by fickle things like recognising a character will leave just as quickly.
The magic story, especially under woke DEI writers is complete trash. Characters are inconsistent. The past decade of magic lore was Jacestice League wank as WotC tried to get a Netflix show, which merged in to Lesbian Chandra wank when she was chosen to be the protagonist of the Netflix show. Then the story changed in to Kaya wank after George Floyd died and WotC started chasing DEI money. The beloved phyrexians were turned in to toothless jobbers. Thank god WotC realized they can't write lore for shit and stopped getting in their own way. I like some of the worlds wotc creates but the stories and characters themselves are shit. Atleast with UB you get beloved characters and stories that are actually good. WotC if left to their own devices will just give us and endless stream of niko arris and ral zarek having sex while wearing funny themed cosplay hats, while kaya saves the day solo every time due to black girl magic. Any mtg lore purists in 2025 are massive fags.

You can read in Hasbros own words that MH2 and LotR were the previous best selling sets across their lifetimes, which is months if not years, at $200M each
https://investor.hasbro.com/magic-gathering
>Tabletop MAGIC’S two largest releases to date--The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth [2023] and Modern Horizons 2 [2022] -- have each surpassed $200 million in lifetime revenue.

And the Q2 earnings report which includes Final Fantasy only reports an uptick of 23% in Magic revenue for the quarter
https://investor.hasbro.com/news-releases/news-release-details/hasbro-reports-second-quarter-2025-financial-results
>MAGIC: THE GATHERING revenue increased 23% with growth in tabletop fueled by Final Fantasy and continued momentum in Secret Lair and backlist products.

So if you're one of those retards that believes Final Fantasy sold more in 1 day than LotR and MH2 sold in their respective life times, then yeah I'd tell you you're wrong on that. If it had, the uptick in revenue for the quarter would be in the hundreds of percent increase, not 23%

No I'm asking you what you think your point is

>"heh are you gonna tell me FF didn't make 200M dollars?"
>well if you're referring to the headline that says it made 200M in one day, then yeah I'll tell you that's wrong because the numbers WotC themselves published do not reflect a set selling more in 1 day than previous record-holding sets sold in their lifetimes
>"that's impossible!!!!!! wotc would be bankrupt if FF didn't make 200M!!!!!!!"
Is this some kind of autism thing where you struggle to respond appropriately? Genuine question.
We have the numbers WotC as a publicly traded company has to publish. They don't reflect a 200M in 1 day sale. Saying that despite these numbers actually WotC must have made 200M specifically because if they hadn't (based on what exactly???) they would be bankrupt is completely illogical
>>96311042
>trying to save face

>>96311061
>dude your conspiracy theories fall flat when you consider the fact that hasbro would be dead if magic was fudging the numbers every. single. set.
???????????????????????????????????????

Where is the fucking conspiracy theory?
>"FF sold 200M in one day!!!!!!!!!"
>that seems unlikely, look at the revenue numbers WotC is legally compelled to release
>"that's a conspiracy theory!!!!!!!!"

LotR and MH2 were the previous best selling sets of all time, at 200M across their LIFETIMES
We don't know how long a life time is, but it doesn't matter as long as lifetimes for comparable sets are measures consistently.
End of Q2 WotC declares two important things 1. FF is now the best selling set of all time, and 2. Magic saw an uptick of 23% increased revenue.

Now follow with me here, if FF had made 200M in one day, then its lifetime sales would be several times as much as the lifetime sales of MH2 and LotR, yes?
And so the revenue increase for the quarter would be several times larger. We'd be looking at 100% or 200% increase or even more.
Instead we see 23%. This does not reflect sales of 200M in 1 day.

It's simple math.
>>96311096

>>96311209
I don't know if this is true, the page actually doesn't say whether the figures are over Q2 last year or Q1 the same year.
But fortunately for me it doesn't matter. Because a bigger gap between quarters still wouldn't matter.
If the previous record holding sets made 200M in their entire lifetimes, and the new record holding set beat that record in a single day, you would see an increase in revenue multiple times any previous quarter, which would look like an increase of 100% or more.

Here's quarter Q1 of 2024 vs the Q1 of 2025.
They went up by 146 million in revenue in a year between quarters. Do you think that's an increase of over 100%? Its 100 million more, so it has to be, right?
No, its 46% which is more than the reported revenue increased of 45% (guess they're not lying to inflate their stats, only deflate them.
Couldn't find an info graph of quarter 2 of 2024, but I did for 2025, which is up another 60 million from quarter 1 (which by the way, q1 to q2 is only an increase of 12% not anywhere the reported 23% proving how you view quarterly reports is 100% incorrect.)
Preorders for the FF set stated in may of 2025, Which would all be under quarter 2, as the months reported are only april may and june.

522 million in revenue just for those 3 months.
Do you think Takrir dragstorm and the limping of aetherdrift did the heavy lifting to make it 522 million?
And as the other anon pointed out, the official release of FF will be in Q3, not 2 so it will be even higher.

TL:DR you don't know what you are talking about and 200 million in sales for FF is 100% in the realm of possibility.

Your own numbers disprove this. There is a 200M increase between Q2 2025 and Q2 2024. The claim is Final Fantasy made 200M in 1 day, right? But they didn't just sell it in 1 day, it was still available as long as any other set. So you'd expect it to continue to sell higher than any other set for a total of far more than just +200M.

It's pretty clear the man just fucking misspoke and didn't really mean it sold 200M in one day. But clearly the fact that the numbers in front of you show this doesn't seem to matter so there is no evidence that could convince you short of him coming out and correcting himself.

Good god you are fucking dumb and don't understand anything about financial reporting, but you're going to just keep dunning kruegering all over the place since you can't just admit you were talking out of your ass.
I posted quarter 1 of 2024 and 2025 to illustrate you don't understand how the reporting works, and those posted Q2 of 2025 to further that point since its only a 12% increased between Q1 and Q2 instead of the 23% reported.
The number you need to be looking at is the 522 million which accounts for pre-release sales, which honestly is very likely to be 200 million just went pre-orders went up alone as the only thing else that was competing with FF preorders in Q2 was fucking Aetherdrift and Dragonstorm.
You are a fucking dipshit.

Its wild to me that you're this dense while telling other people they don't understand.

Say for the sake of argument that they did sell 200M in 1 day.
They didn't stop selling after that one day, right? Even if they sold everything they had printed, selling business to business companies would absolutely pay for stock before it is printed.
And presumably they didn't have some bizarre surge in sales before returning to normal levels, right? If it sold better than all other sets on 1 day, then it must have sold better than all other sets on subsequent days, right?
Your numbers show Q2 2025 was just slightly more than 200M higher than Q2 2024.
If they took 200M in just one day, then for the whole quarter they should be up way more than 200M, right? But they're not. They're just up by, funnily enough, the exact number the CEO said they took in 1 day.

It doesn't add up, the conclusion is he misspoke. Maybe he meant they took 200M in a month, or a week, or who knows what. But the total number is too low for 200M to be the sales of just 1 day.

Holy fuck. It's literally like you can't read.
I'm not saying that. I've never fucking said that.

Let me explain this to you like you're a toddler.
>you have a lemonade stand

>in your best year ever, you were making an average of $10 a day
>now you're claiming that for a whole month your lemonade stand did better than ever
>you say that in 1 day you made as much as you made in an entire month a couple years ago
>lets say its $300 in one day
>then you show me your numbers
>and for some reason, your takings for the whole month are just $350
Where is the rest of it?
Your numbers account for the 1 day you said was your best day ever. But surely you sold more lemonade for the rest of the month too, right? So how come your numbers look like a regular month's takings + the number you said you made in 1 day
I would conclude that when you said you made $300 in one day you misspoke.

Winter Moon -> Scroll Rack
Gust of Wind -> Suplex
These were more social changes after I realized that even with the sheer number of bricks in this deck (e.g. Contradict), the framework is still miles ahead of most decks I play against, so a 5c punisher isn't really needed and removing it leads to fewer hurt feelings. Suplex meanwhile is a card I can just make lame jokes about even though I personally think being sorcery speed kills it.

It's just funny that when you do, oddly enough the increase in revenue between the years is almost exactly the amount they claimed to have made in 1 day- which doesn't make sense unless the set had 1 freak day where it made 200M and then for the rest of the quarter just happened to have made exactly as much as the set the previous quarter.

You just said, FF is the best selling set ever, and yet the excess revenue between the two quarters happens to be the exact fucking number that FF supposedly made in 1 day....soooooo for the rest of the quarter FF sold exactly the same as the comparable set from the previous year then? Draws a lot of aggro when playing with randoms for being an Izzet deck. I can give them the metaphorical PowerPoint on how there's no Birgi/Storm-Kiln/Infinites but in my experience that just goes in one ear out the other.
It plays much closer to a traditional control deck (trading out removal while aiming for card advantage) than an all-in storm/combo deck. You have lots of card selection which lets it get away with a rather low land count since you can select for lands early then select for playables once you've established card advantage.
It's designed as a 2 (notably lacking a lot of cards like Unwinding Clock and Academy Manufactor which would improve the deck, but I feel are boring because they feel more like 4-mana "I win" buttons when actually playing), but in-practice people are so bad at deckbuilding and playing that I can sometimes get away with playing it against poorly-built 3s.
Wincon most of the time is resolving Dragonstorm, which was the central focus I had when building this deck. It's a bit tough because all the targets have to be in library which often means finding a way to send them back with a card like Into the Fire or Brainstorm. A full resolution outputs over 200 damage spread across multiple ability triggers which is usually enough to fry someone while being insulated from most blowout cards like Deflecting Palm or Bolt Bend.
Rite of the Dragoncaller and Stormscale Scion are softer redundant wincons. They're much trickier to cast in this deck because while it's great at generating mana for instants/sorceries, it generally has to rely on its 1 land/turn for permanents, making it more awkward to resolve them. Especially since no haste sources means you'll generally be stuck waiting a turn cycle for them to do anything. Still considering re-adding Borne Upon a Wind to alleviate this, but I think it's way funnier hitting people with Quicken since it's considerably more obscure.

and yes, actually. top is q2 2025, bottom is q2 2024. Wizards (which is not just Magic but this is as granular as we can get for now) had +$100MM topside revenue offset by $12MM higher intersegment revenue, $10MM higher COGS, a whopping +$30MM in royalties paid (probably all to square enix), +6MM in advertising expense, and another +$30MM to managed expense, which is a bunch of shit explained underneath the table

He will. He will act like none of this happened, and if it ever is brought up he'll just claim we won.

My personal opinion is that the initial bracket concept (tiered banlist, 4 brackets) was better, but I understand why they went with the current system since it's more similar to what the game was like beforehand. Honestly I feel the GC list should be expanded and a good chunk of the GC list should be outright banned, but I understand that I'm in the minority here.
Honestly I just find it hard to care too much about "the state of the format" because EDH is always in the same sourspot Dead By Daylight is in where generally the game is only held up by an implicit assumption players will restrict themselves rather than pushing the game to its limits. The person that wants to win the most will generally win once you get out of the extreme novice level. The main obstacle, as it has always been, is power mismatches and people whining about perceived power mismatches. Brackets are an improvement but it's slow work in a format that needs to accommodate for a perpetual flood of extremely novice deckbuilders that form truly radical takes like "Rhystic Study is the only way I can draw."
My main complaint is that it really feels like the power of threats has rapidly outpaced the power of removal. Seeing FIN's removal costed at 3 mana while at the same time printing a creature that sees cEDH play and currently controls Standard felt really annoying.

The card is mana efficient, grants evasion, and gives an ok stat boost. The haste is also appreciated. It's recurrable so mitigates one of the problems with auras.
If you have a 5 power commander it makes the clock go from 5 swings to 3 swings. The haste immediately lets you start pressuring and the flying lets you connect.
Consider a situation after a board wipe with one of your guys having it on it but a few important bodies manage to live. The body it was previously on probably accounts for at least half the collect cost so you should be able to pay it. Then you can slap down any body you want and immediately get to work assuming those lingering bodies from your opponent don't have flying/reach.

>>96314156
>cringe for making this a fucking combo deck
winning in bracket 4 requires some kind of combo as a backup when punching doesn't work
>>96314185
3 card combos are fine

bracket 4 is a no man's land, it's meta full of one trick ponies, waifus that people blinged, and cedh commanders that fell from the meta like prossh, you will not have a good time there

>>96314259
That deck isn't even bracket four.
>>96314156
Why are people going nuts over this
>>96314185
It's not a combo deck. This deck was my first EDH deck back in 2009. I slowly upgraded it until I quit Magic in 2012, then I recently got back into it and started to tweak it. Playing Magic back then we didn't like instant win combos, especially two card ones, in our playgroup so we didn't use them. It does have infinite combos with Reveillark, Karmic Guide, Saffi, Phyrexian Altar, Vish Kal and things like Acidic Slime, but that requires more than two cards, and is not a primary win con. The more I play the deck, the more I'm thinking about removing Genesis Wave for some more card draw. And yeah I am an elder Millennial (boomer) so I've had access to cards from pretty much the mid 90s.

Farewell was so good at removing problem permanents (the theme of the deck) I had to include it. Hour of Revelation was just a straight Austere Command replacement. I want to blow permanents up, including my own. Exiling not so much, but it's good to have the option with so many new scary things.
>>96314287
swordfag posted without his trip and got caught
>>96314281
It is by definition
>vamp tutor
>demonic tutor
>worldly tutor
>ancient tomb
>aura shards
the powerlevel is way too low for bracket 4 but technically speaking anon isnt wrong
>>96314197
Thank you. I always loved playing these colors together and even though it was my first EDH deck, it's still my favorite to play because of how resilient it is.

>>96314201
Yeah it's a backup for sure. Usually it wins by keeping the board clear of threats and wins and you can bring your own stuff back or steal others' creatures and win. Vish Kal of course can get big and swing. Even Teneb gets there with a Shizo buff.

>>96314228
If it's early game and I need cards usually the Arena, or maybe the Greater Good. Late game almost always Debtor's Knell. It pretty much requires an answer or it just takes over the game.

>>96314259
>>96314281
I agree. By definition it is, but it's too slow and non combo to be a real bracket 4 contender IMO. Like I said before, back in the day it was.

>>96314287

There's no soul in a shitpile that only wins when it tutors for Tooth and Nail.

'ate UB
luv complainin' about it
simple as
>>96314455
I agree. It doesn't win that way unless you have Vish or Phyrexian Altar up, and something like Saffi, Acidic Slime up too. It requires at least 4 cards to go infinite, or three to get infinite mana. In my experience it really doesn't happen very often at all, and I don't actively try to set it up unless I'm forced to or the game is going way too long. I don't think I have ever tutored for Tooth and Nail.
