Those are groks, scifi space cows the Imperium farms for food at the interplanetary industrial scale level. The females are beastmen, mutated humans. The Imperium is racist as hell against mutants and I guess just stuck some female beastmen females, who probably were tithed to fight as Guardsmen, to provide sexual comfort to the groks for tastier milk and eggs instead of being cannon fodder soldiers.

It's the equivalent to sticking a bunch of African females in the Gorilla exhibit at the zoo to stop them from flinging poop.
