I am currently searching for a musician for my game. I search by looking for more "expensive" and "renowned" musicians on twitter and soundcloud (that I could never afford) and checking out their follows/followers for other musicians with a lot less followers than them. Usually they have the same "style" of music but slightly more amateurish and cheaper. Both soundcloud and twitter also offer a "People you should be following" list based on my likes/follows and I check those daily as well until I find someone who matches my vibe and budget.

So my advice would be to put your music up somewhere, on soundcloud or twitter or whatever, and follow other musicians in your style.
