I know he comes back but holy shit I don't think I've seen a more wasted character. He should have been the secondary considering he's the only one with an interesting motivation and has the best chemistry with Ikki. Especially since Daiji is such a blank slate after the Kagero stuff.

They even gave him a new outfit and shot in the intro only to do this for fucks sake.
