This kind of makes me wonder if a v-pet thing would've worked? Like the capsules are all inhabited by "dream monsters" that you have to raise. It does sort of explain the design direction of the animations.

Definitely sounds like something they would've saved for a P-Bandai dark rider belt, like Demons and Glare. Maybe we could still see the LCD screen capsules. For a P-Bandai one-off they could probably fit a colored digital screen too.

The Legend Rider cards were the chase cards, especially full arts. Regular chemmies of higher rarity sold for dirt cheap in lots, the Riders and their full arts maintained high value by comparison and are what most sought to collect. Rider chemmy cards were also used as incentive for snack bundles as well, boosting those sales. They did this for Main, Dark, and Secondary Riders. (Though secondaries didn't get full arts, they were relegated to the snacks)

It's more active than usual by current standards, Zeztz's episode thread had more replies than usual premier episode threads, and the general reached image limit twice while having a lot of replies, but most of current /m/ is at work atm.

As bad as 4chan has gotten over the years, specially with the new owners and jannies, 4chan is still somehow far better for discussion than most sites since one can be more honest here. The only topics that find impossible to have any form of proper discussion these days are WSJ Manga, /mu/ and /his/, in /m/ you can still get better toku discussion compared to other sites and it's pretty much the only forum that actually posts every actual leaks, rumors and production notes in English. It's the internet as a whole that has gotten worse pretty much, which is why people are shifting more towards just having discussion with friends. Perhaps the issue is that the MC being genki is making them dictate scenes too much? It often might lead to the character who gets the most focus leading to a lot of really loud, high-energy scenes.
If they're part of an ensemble an assertive, overbearing character can already risk overshadowing the others who are more reserved which is typically why even in the main cast they usually are not the main character.
There's also a subtle distinction between genki and hot-blooded which people don't seem to mind in the hot-blooded protag. The genkiness seems to have more of a childlike undertone which can come across a bit uncanny in toku.

I've been kind of falling off of Rider for some time. I watched Zero-One but completely fell off due to the irl events at the time, Saber didn't appeal to me at all and then I just stopped caring about toku for a while. It's a good show overall but very heavily flawed. Due to the producer trying to be safe, this character known as Gai ended up being the extremely unlikeable and ruins almost every scene he's in, this in particular makes the second quarter of the show mostly bad but his problems persist even past that. There's also a lot of dropped plot points due to covid reducing the episode count, so they end up getting resolved in material outside the show. Lastly while the finale fight might be one of the best final fights in the franchise, the ending itself is pretty bad, all of these are pretty big flaws compared to most of Heisei, but the show still manages to be mostly good in spite of it thanks to most of the cast, action and world building being great.
