I just tried OpenRouter because everyone said it's cheaper than a $20 subscription and what the fuck are they smoking? A simple reasoning request to Opus 4.1 is 17 cents. On GPT-5 it's 7 cents. That's about 300 messages on GPT-5 until you hit $20, and that's for a simple question-answer with not a lot of context use. With my subscription it's basically unlimited messages, I've never ever hit limits on ChatGPT ever, even on very heavy usage, except back when 4.5 was available.
