It's pretty common, yeah. You even get event dedicated to just one character if a series is popular enough.
Aria just have a VERY dedicated fanbase. If you guys ever have the chance, I'd recommend you try to go to one of the Aria Carnival - they even have a tea party after the event where people show off their rare Aria goods, giveaway stuff, and just relax.
