It's a case of 'the more things change, the more they stay the same.'
Project 2025, which has packed the current American government with their people, has a national porn ban as one of their goals and one of their big leaders pushing for it, Russ Vought, is now in charge of the government agency that oversees payment processors (AKA Visa and Master Card, yes the exact same companies going after steam and itch) and was caught on video talking about how they'd implement a national porn ban.

>But where's the video games?
Russ actually starts to talk about the plan to ban violent video games too, but cuts himself off.
And to make matters worse, Texas just also passed a law that's a defacto ban on anime, on top of the ID law, that's going to go into effect in a few days. It's technically unconstitutional because there was a supreme court ruling that stated drawings can't be child porn (Ashcroft v FSC), but given how ultra conservative the current court is and how they've been throwing out legal precedents left and right to push their Republican's current political agenda, they could easily just throw out Ashcroft v FSC and declare loli is child porn.
Shit is absolutely fucked in America.
