Pete Parsons and Justin Truman didn't literally walk into the dev meetings and demand that characters like Nimbus exist or Saint and Osiris be retconned from being rivals/friends to being gay lovers. Matterspark was not a shareholder request. All they care about is the ways they can get player activity time up or milking Eververse and the season passes. Everything else? All things the actual devs and writers wanted themselves. You can tell by the way they talk about this shit, they genuinely think people will love them for it.
