Manga is mostly trash, ESPECIALLY early on, but it advances at a snail's pace. The only good thing to come out of the manga that corresponds with S1 is Ghislaine in a suit. The part where it actually gets good isn't until the part where S2 of the anime starts, and the anime passed it up during S2.

Just read the LNs. If you really want to read a MT manga, the Roxy manga is decent, and if you've seen up to S2 of the anime there aren't any spoilers.
