I suppose I just think that the idea of Ansem and Namine finding other people's memories when reassembling Sora works better as a game-opening hook, rather than a side-game ending bombshell. But I get it, like with Melody a decade later they didn't have much to give but wanted to do the project. But yeah, exploring the specifics of data-people, having one been brushed upon in 2, merited a spin-off by itself and I appreciated that they used it as a chance to go video gamey ham because nothing here really matters.

Another perk of having had to wait for the PC version.

There was a look on my face at some point when I realized "wait, I can redo the story? They made MORE sectors? They didn't make an entirely new system for Olympus just to make it a one-time thing?" I don't know if I can call it the best command deck game but opening up BBS and DDD for bit afterward it might have my favorite game feel out of the three. But I haven't played through the former since release so I might have to do that to say for sure.
