Beat Roxas, great recreation of the fight while actually removing some of his vulnerabilities from the PS2 version, good show. I still don't get what... any element of this story was supposed to accomplish (is journal still blank?), but they had to do what they had to do. I do appreciate that the game feels like a true remix, versus Chain which was a more straight retread out of necessity, and if Kingdom Hearts was not such a detrimentally story-focused series that would have been far less of grievance at the time. Giving you 30 levels of the Olympus Labyrinth when you only had to beat 5 to finish the story, for example. But I suppose that was mean to be Coded's equivalent of post-story combat, which once again isn't the main combat system. Playing on a 3DS and I'm surprised the pre-rendered videos actually look just fine, I guess with a much larger game card new compression codecs for a very small source resolution you can do a lot.

Keep in mind it came before DDD and X. It expanded the lore on the data/datascapes and how Roxas and Xion's hearts are still inside Sora and what that means. Was it also the first time the Book of Prophecies was mentioned?
I can say that the way these things were told was really stupid and it felt like an unnecessarily complicated way of explaining things.

I feel like everyone overlooks how it straight up says that if Darkness can grow in strength it can straight up break the barrier between the digital world and the physical world even when locked in. So maybe the Darknesses that were trapped in between the worlds in the cable aren't gone forever, although their minds probably are. Then again Recoded came out long before that KHux plot point so it may just be a retcon/different plot point.

Yeah, they stuffed completely Recoded with content. And because of the last floor I guess that means the Ice Titan fight in KH1 is canon, otherwise it wouldn't be in the journal.

Anyways, I want another Recoded type of game that keeps exploring different gameplay styles. Like a tactical RPG, traditional 3D platformer collect-a-thon, stuff like that. With all the magic, swarms of different enemy types, world and realm traveling, you can do pretty much anything with Kingdom Hearts.

master is best done at yen sid's tower, once you get nobodies to spawn there: One of the floors has only gamblers spawning so if you go master, equip the pooh keyblade, and do their RC you can literally get as many drive orbs as you want out of just one of them. It's also the best place to level up summons for the same reason

Wizard makes a declaration of what's to come

I'm going to try to get those 12 Keyblade pins next year. Hopefully they'll be available at Downtown Disney and not in the actual park so I can save money and avoid buying a resident key. From what one of my coworkers says Kingdom Hearts pins have massively increased in popularity and new pin sets can get people lining up an hour before the park opens just to get them.

Coco: Rhythm-based gameplay tied to the power of music. Ice Cream Beat/Melody of Memory sorts of stuff. I haven’t seen the movie yet, so maybe I’m wrong about this but it seems like a perfect fit for a world where the main character apparently has a magic guitar.
Wreck-It Ralph: Genre-switching gameplay based on the different arcade games, kind of like how Recoded played around with different genres.
The Haunted Mansion: world with survival horror elements and creepy puzzles, kind of like the book puzzle segment in Hollow Bastion but much more involved.
Tron and/or Datascape: focused on hacking, data-based abilities, and creating sci-fi gadgets. This world could lean into customization and digital mechanics in a cool way.

And while I can't think of a certain world for it, I'd like it if we had a world that went tactical RPG, like Final Fantasy Tactics

Improved all around from previous versions, but not to the point where you won't question why the segment even exists. I guess it gave those experienced with that genre a way to flex.
