Unironically, people need to go back and read the first two volumes. The story was perfect, the set up was perfect, Bocchi showed remarkable growth as a person who could sometimes be cool when it mattered, she's still weird but a theme of the story was she was cool deep down, the band shows development together, its clear Bocchi is far stronger than the others but they work on their teamwork so one day they can match her strength, and Bocchi was working to be able to unleash her strength without holding back on stage one day. The story felt like it had a clear theme and progression.
Sideros ruined the story entirely; the second Kessoku Band lost the big audition to sideros the entire story crashed and never recovered. They've been doing nothing for the last six volumes, Bocchi constantly devolves as a character into a loser punching bag who's cemented herself further as a loser each chapter. Its like time keeps passing but the group keeps spinning their wheels talking about whether they're going to keep doing this band stuff when half of them are going to college. They're feeling less committed to the band over time.
