I was thinking that a fun twist on the Nothing to Room episode could be 180°ing the camera. Instead of showing the characters, it shows the TV screen and we only hear their voices commenting on the programs, think Beavis and Butt-Head. As for the TV programs, they could either come up with various ones based on the PSG world, or if there wasn't a rights issue just screen past Trigger anime and pretend that they're shows that exist in-universe.
