That's not a standard feature of the m/45 Submachine gun, it's a special modification hastily rushed out for the UN peacekeeping force in the Congo. Why? Because isolated iron age tribesmen, armed with literal bows and arrows, kept opportunistically attacking UN peacekeepers due to the mistaken belief that these strange pale men were unarmed.

The tribesmen literally didn't understand that the small iron pipe contraptions the white men carried were guns. So the Swedes made bayonet mounts for their submachine guns, so they could install huge WWI-era bayonets on their SMGs, to make it obvious that the guns were indeed weapons.
