just because you might know her doesn't mean she's culturally similar to you in any meaningful way.

And I'm not saying you can't like her as a person, don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying you shouldn't prefer her in your community over some mexican zoomer that consumes the same media as you.

But culturally - the media you consume, the types of text and ideas you engage with everyday, these things are far more defined by your online experience than your physical community nowadays. everyone spends like an hour a day online at a minimum and it's that time where you are most engaged with cultural output so this can't really be helped.
