> in every episode a new solution needs to be improvised. not a single time there is an angel that's just stronger than the last one and Shinji just needs to fight harder that the episode before
Wrong. Episode 03, Shinji defeats the angel by charging right in and killing the thing, ignoring the warnings, Episode 19 has an angel literally described at the end of Episode 18 to be the strongest they ever faced, everyone gets brutally mogged in seconds and the whole world is about to end until Shinji goes back to the robot (for the 3rd time now) and screams until his synchro levels reach a point where Unit01 can say "fuck the rules" and go berserk (something that briefly happened in episode 2 and episode 16). Classic DBZ shit, which I personally find really cool.

You don't even need to watch the movie, the SEELE members revealed the name of their objective and it gets constantly talked about throughout the show, I started rewatching evangelion this week and was really surprised to see that the most important parts and themes of the show get revealed extremely early on (hedgehog's dilemma is first mentioned in episode 03 and is then the title of episode 04 for example), makes me wonder how so many people failed to get it.
90% of the shit in Eva isn't original whatsoever, even the mechas being alive isn't, It's all pretty much just a recycle of what Anno thought was cool, what differentiates it from the other shows is that they put more attention to the psychological aspect that wasn't as explored in the many mecha shows, Eva isn't really that massively popular nor was it that influential in the grand scheme of things either, it's just what midwit americans believe in because they spent so long watching crap made for kids the one SOVLFVL show made for adults felt revolutionary, we were then cursed with 30 years of idiots missing the forest for the trees and trying to find meaning where there wasn't any.
