It can be whatever man. Literally anything in Homestuck can be twisted and used as metaphor if you do your own fan adventure or whatever. You can make it randomly with cool shit or with cool shit vaguely related to your character and their personality or issues or quest.

Hell I've heard people say that Land of Heat and Clockwork somehow relates to Dave's abuse with all the Silent Hill style industrial shit. I don't know if I believe that but it sounds cool and could be something to explore if you feel like it.
