Your body is an inherent part of what makes (you) "you".
Your flesh must be a reflection of the spirit that resides within you.

He misunderstands the dual nature which Paul speaks of you, specifically romans 7 and romans 8

The nature of the flesh is indeed contrary to the nature of the spirit, but this means that the spirit must take over the flesh and to put it aside.
The body must be a reflection of your inward being that abides in Christ, not the reverse where you allow the flesh to take over your inward being through sin.

to live accroding to the spirit is life, so if you live according to the spirit, you shall subjugate the flesh and you wont allow it to polute your soul
