I will soon replace/remove this thing, the white and the entire green thing that overhangs the door because it was poorly made and the ply got wet.

My problem is it has a european hornet nest somewhere in the green part with 5-10 of them guarding an entrance near the shingle when I get close. I sprayed it with permethrin multiple times but that didn’t work, didn’t find a single dead one. How do I go about this? I can’t tell where exactly they can get in/out to attack me while I’m on a ladder
