These comic vs manga threads get the most engagement from comicfags out of any comic-related thread. They will let hundreds of potentially good comic threads die a lonely death, but they'll get that EvW bad boy to bump limit. They can't help themselves.
It's so bad that I've actually had several decent discussions with fellow comic and manga-reading bros amongst all the noise of non-readers, more than almost any other type of thread. Because of the level of engagement and discussion, I'm disappointed when they're finally deleted.
