It's so bad that I've actually had several decent discussions with fellow comic and manga-reading bros amongst all the noise of non-readers, more than almost any other type of thread. Because of the level of engagement and discussion, I'm disappointed when they're finally deleted.

Long running storytimes/dailies on both here and /a/ (that aren't shonen shit) tend to be pretty good mostly because the people following them are those interested in what's being storytimed in the first place so a lot of shittier posters don't bother and it allows for generally nice threads talking about what's being storytimed or things related to it. This goes for practically every form of media to be frank, there's this weird situation where people complain about how everything sucks now, but also seemingly refuse to watch anything made before the 80s or 90s. As nice as it is to have channels dedicated solely to classic stuff I feel it has created a divide between old and new that didn't really exist prior. I've heard in the 70s and 80s kids would watch Flintstones, old theatricals, Gilligan's Island, Lucy, etc alongside the new stuff and didn't qualify it like "well this was made before I was born", it was all just "TV"
