They're able to exist in a more pure way than the other tribes. Pegasi and unicorns being specialized for flight and magic respectively makes them kinda autistic in a way. Meanwhile Earth Ponies are hardy, content, in their lane, frolicking. To be an Earth Pony is to be closest to the platonic ideal of cute pony.
