Like, it's just a fundamentally more gay character now, and the game was definitely made by the Splatoon devs moreso than remnants of the Odyssey production team. A lot of the designs seem more Splatoon-adjacent than Odyssey-relayed, especially the bosses.

I'm gonna be so fucking annoyed at Kid Pauline always calling him by "D.K!!" with full voice acting. It's heard 3 times in the trailers and she never says "Donkey" or "Kong".
