>"Pressure points" like in Fist of the north Star do not exist in other settings. Real-world pressure points are different, and cannot be manipulated into making people explode.
That's cool, but if you're arguing in a VS context you have to make a good point to remove these from being equalized into a debate. I can accept if the biology is not at all standard but if you're flesh and blood like everything else then pretending like it doesn't exist just to go "nuh uh" is kind of childish and reductory. At that point, why not just reduce every matchup to a brick vs brick as long as special powers aren't rooted in physics? You cannot prove souls exist either in a ton of settings, which would remove a ton of supernatural powers from play.
>Looks like something which depends on the local afterlife's mechanics. Again, not something applicable to people from other settings.
Pretty much the same. We could cross-apply this into a ton of matchups to completely break them and it'd make them
1. not interesting
2. completely ignoring the qualities of the other character
3. dumb
Let's say we have a setting like, I don't know, Rocky (the boxing movies). We put Kenshiro in it, he uses his afterlife sending technique, and it doesn't work because Rocky has no soul to send to the afterlife (Rocky is an athetistic universe for the sake of argument or some shit), that sounds pretty fucking dumb, right? Maybe if we're told people don't have souls explicitly, but otherwise, people apply equivalency rules for a reason.
>What you're missing is that Kenshiro is a big, superhumanly strong/tough/fast guy, and THAT is how he could threaten people from other settings. I was pointing out that the specific statement implying use of pressure point nonsense on people from other settings doesn't work in-universe.
As pointed out, there's a reason people tend to avoid debating like this because it's basically just an avenue to go "nuh uh" in the face of out of context problems.
