Anyone notice how this doesn't happen anymore after Google/AI/Wikipedia? You can no longer be "the computer guy" or "the science guy" or "the guy who knows sports stats" or "the guy who told jokes he saw on The Simpsons". Because now everyone knows these things at all times.
