I don't think the two are neccessarily related, at the end of the day tastes in gaming or movies are subjective, a "reviewer" or "critic" or whatever else content creator, only has subjective value, if you find someone who likes the same things as you then their recommendations will be valuable to you, they don't have any objective sort of value though, and whether he made a crappy game or not doesn't change what sort of games he likes so the subjective value of his opinions stays the same, however if he starts saying stuff like "talking from my experience as a game developer" then yeah nah stfu bitch, you have no experience
