Realistically do you need any more colored acrylic washes than what is shown in pic related?

That might be my problem.
I’ll still try to deep clean my airbrush as I feel like I need to do that anyways. And I ordered some parts anyways so there’s that.

One thing is I’m letting my job exhaust me out for the past couple of months so I need to force myself to do this.

A flesh wash and a sepia wash will probably be the most difficult mixes I’ll be making. Mostly because the matte medium slightly lightens the color of the washes and I also have to be careful not to make just another brown wash.
But I bought an extra flow aid and matte medium bottle for the experimentation to continue so I should be able to figure it all out.

Pic related are the wash colors I want to cover.

I have personal preference for how a wash should behave. For me there should be next to no staining on surfaces and only around recesses and raised details.
Like ArmyPainter washes mixed with speedpaint medium: https://youtu.be/b6cbOrVnD3Y?t=368
I'm not sure what the secret ingredient of speedpaint/contrast medium is but I would love to know what it is to experiment a bit more at the hobby desk.

I understand that this may not coincide well with some of you. As some of you may want your washes to leave final results like pic related.
So should I just roll ahead and cover the rest of the colors for the hobby section of this Battle Bible? Or try and pursue how I want my washes to behave or after I roll ahead and get the rest of the colors and their respectively listed recipes out?

I think you’ll be hard pressed to find pics like pic related to show how the earliest citadel washes worked over white.
Unless you count coat d’arms’ super washes as close enough to those old ones.

If all else fails you could just try to get the washes to mimic the badab and Devlan mud era of gw washes. They kept the wash palette simple then. But don’t feel bad about not getting Baal red right. That was my least favorite of the bunch.
